Now that Drupal 7 has been released, and a large amount of modules have been upgraded to work for this new and amazing system, are you using Drupal 7 for your projects? This site is built in Drupal 7.
Our argument for using Drupal 7 was that we want to be future-forward. So no sense continuing on the old version of the software if we can get by on the new system. The biggest concern about upgrading is modules. Drupal gets it's power and flexibility from the vast amount of modules that are out there. This includes a number of different API's that are created to help expand the functionality of Drupal.
Fortunately for us, the API approach is taking over by storm in the Drupal 7 framework. This is great for the future-forward perspective. There are also a number of UI upgrades in Drupal 7. The bottom line is that Drupal 7 is making things a whole lot easier. The biggest issue is making sure that when you scope a project, the modules that you come to rely on are available and functional. This may mean that you have to do some prototyping or research before you commit to doing Drupal 7.
This site was created using a number of modules that actually surprised me to see that they had stable releases. Some of these include Views Slideshow, Flags, Full Calendar, and Views Attach (which is now called 'Eva'). Having done more work recently in Drupal 7, and finding more of the modules that initially concerned me becoming stable, I'm all about moving forward in D7 from here on.
What about you? Have you moved forward in the Drupal 7 world yet? If not, what are your biggest concerns about making the jump?
